Sergi Lanau is Deputy Chief Economist in the Economic Research Department since 2018. Previously, Mr. Lanau was an economist at the IMF, where he was involved in the design and implementation of IMF programs in Greece and Latvia. He also worked on Italy, Latin America and general emerging-market issues. Prior to joining the IMF, Mr. Lanau was an economist in the International Finance Division at the Bank of England.
Education
Mr. Lanau earned his PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2008.
